Celtic defender Maik Nawrocki has three transfer scenarios on the table ahead of what is likely to be a busy summer transfer window.
BILD Hamburg report on the 24-year-old today and the various ways in which the summer transfer window could go for him.
Three options for Celtic
The newspaper reports that, after failing to reach the promotion play-offs, Hannover 96 will bid farewell to eleven players on Monday. But their squad planners are hoping for a quick reunion with some of them, ideally in time for pre-season.
Director Ralf Becker is set to hold the necessary talks over the coming days. Those conversations were put on hold in the race for promotion.
There has been a ‘sudden glimmer of hope’ when it comes to the Celtic loanee. Maik Nawrocki has played his way into the spotlight at the club with a series of strong performances.
Hope of transfer deal
It was previously considered impossible to keep him without promotion. But there is hope that won’t be the case. According to BILD, there are three possible scenarios.
The first is that Celtic bring him back and ‘fully back’ him with a clear sporting pathway and the promise of regular playing time.
The second is that Celtic don’t decide to build around the defender. That would mean them opening the door to a permanent exit. There are several club sin Europe’s top leagues monitoring at this moment in time. He’s valued at €1.5m.
The third option is that Celtic decide against selling and opt for another loan again. If that were the chosen path, Hannover would suddenly find themselves with a strong chance of securing Nawrocki again.
The 2. Bundesliga is seen as a high-quality destination for the defender to continue his development. He would be guaranteed a starting spot at Hannover as well.
A decision needs to be made, but those are the scenarios on the table. Hannover are waiting to see what happens, with a potential decision on the way as early as next week.
