Having spent the first half of 2023 on loan at Benfica, Wolverhampton Wanderers allowed Gonçalo Guedes to return to the Portuguese club on a season-long loan deal last summer.
The forward has been restricted to 271 minutes of action from 13 games this season and has managed two assists in the process.
Last week, Benfica manager Roger Schmidt stated he doesn’t expect key players to leave this month and O Jogo claim the Wolves man is included in the list.
However, there could be a ‘drastic change’ in his situation considering that he has made only one league start this season. The 27-year-old ‘wants to know’ whether he will be a regular under the manager in the coming months.
Guedes’ situation with the Eagles hasn’t stopped him attracting interest from other clubs.
This includes his old club Valencia, Villarreal, where his former manager Marcelino García Toral is currently in charge, and an unnamed team from Saudi Arabia. It’s claimed these three clubs are interested in signing the Wolves owned player on a loan deal in January.
The interested parties haven’t made any moves with Benfica or Gary O’Neil’s side for Guedes so far.
