On Sunday morning, we covered claims made in Italy that stated Rodrigo Bentancur is ‘attracted’ to the idea of joining Tottenham Hotspur in January.

Spurs have agreed a deal with Juventus for the transfer of Dejan Kulusevski, and then TuttoMercatoWeb reported the two clubs have also ‘reached an agreement’ for Bentancur.

Claims made by TMW are backed up Gianluca Di Marzio, who then goes on to provide the fresh developments taking place in regards to the midfielder’s case.

Without wasting time, the report states the 24-year-old is ‘about to become a Tottenham player’ and is now ‘close to moving to England’. It’s even explained the north London club and the Serie A side are now ‘exchanging documents’ to conclude the operation.

Antonio Conte’s side will invest around €25m, which includes a fixed fee of €19m plus €6m as potential payments in bonuses, to bring the Uruguay international to London.

Aston Villa showed interested in Bentancur, but he snubbed the Villans in favour of joining Spurs.
