Georginio Wijnaldum continues to struggle for PSG, less than a year after walking out on Liverpool as a free agent.

The Dutch midfielder didn’t want to sign a new deal with Jurgen Klopp’s side, knowing he’d be able to leave Anfield on a free, and therefore take advantage of his situation.

That was certainly the case, with Barcelona chasing the Netherlands international for months. Financial issues meant the Catalan cub couldn’t compete when PSG arrived in the room, and Wijnaldum was able to secure himself a move and a salary that wouldn’t have been available had he not been without a club.

Things haven’t gone well in France, and PSG’s local media have repeatedly questioned the player’s level.

That’s now happened again, after Mauricio Pochettino’s side lost 3-1 to Nantes on Saturday.

Sunday’s edition of L’Equipe labels Wijnaldum a flop, gives him just 2/10 for his performance, and says he’s going through a ‘nightmarish’ period since he left the Premier League side.

The player is said to be unrecognisable from the earlier version at Liverpool.
