On July 28th, we covered claims from the Dutch press on Rangers’ desire to add Go Ahead Eagles’ Oliver Antman to Russell Martin’s squad this summer.
It was also said the winger’s move could go through soon when Rangers table a bid.
Rangers are said to have offered €6m to the Eredivisie side and the two clubs reached an agreement on Saturday. That’s according to RTV Oost, who reports the Scottish club are yet to agree terms with the 23-year-old.
The Dutch club will face PSV Eindhoven in the Johan Cruyff Shield later today. RTV Oost says Antman won’t be involved in this tie, following Rangers’ advances.
De Telegraaf also reports Russell Martin’s side have an agreement in place with Go Ahead Eagles to buy the attacker.
The fee is around €6m and it would rise with bonuses, making him their record sale, surpassing the €4m they collected from Birmingham City for Willum Willumsson in 2024.
It’s claimed the Finland international’s move to Ibrox is ‘expected to be completed soon’ and is left out of the squad to face PSV later today.
There’s no mention of Rangers agreeing personal terms with Antman, but with the move expected to be sealed quickly, this is likely to be sorted out soon.
Antman scored six goals and registered 16 assists from 36 games last season.
