Aston Villa have set their sights on AC Milan’s Alexis Saelemaekers, according to multiple claims from Italy.
The 26-year-old has already returned to the San Siro after spending last season on loan at AS Roma.
He mainly operated as a right wing-back, while has also been used on both wings and attacking midfield position at the Italian capital club, scoring seven and registering seven assists from 31 games.
TuttoMercatoWeb now report Aston Villa have expressed interest in the versatile player for this summer.
It’s claimed the Premier League side’s interest could be converted into an offer to both Saelemaekers and the Rossoneri.
The Villans’ desire to sign the Belgium international is also reported by MilanNews.it.
They state Unai Emery’s side have made contact to explore the possibility of securing his services in this window. It isn’t made clear if the Premier League club contacted Milan, his camp or both.
According to MilanNews.it, Aston Villa could make an initial offer to sign Saelemaekers in the next few days.
Both reports make no mention of the fee the Villans could offer to Milan. Saelemaekers’ contract expires in 2027 and Transfermarkt currently values him at €17m.
