On Thursday, we covered claims from Denmark which stated Swansea City have reached an agreement with AaB for Melker Widell’s transfer in the winter market.

It was also reported the Championship club were sorting out the final details with the 22-year-old. The Welsh club have agreed to send him back on loan at AaB until the end of this season.

Swansea City seem to have made progress and are edging closer towards completing his signing, according to multiple claims.

Nordjyske point out that on Wednesday, AaB confirmed to the stock exchange that they’d reached agreement to sell the midfielder.

The Danish club are currently having a training camp in Spain and Widell wasn’t present yesterday because he was on his way to Wales to complete a move to Swansea City.

Nordjyske say AaB have secured a ‘lucrative deal’ with the Swede’s sale to Swansea City, without mentioning figures.

TV2 Nord are also reporting the player has travelled to Wales to join Luke Williams’ side.

AaB sporting director James Gow was asked about Widell and he said: “I can’t say much, even though I know it’s the boring answer. I expect him back tomorrow.”

His comment suggests Widell can quickly return on loan once he seals a move to Swansea City.
