Earlier in the season, we covered claims from Italy that Chelsea have AC Milan star Theo Hernández on their agenda.

Fast forward to May and the Spanish press, especially Mundo Deportivo and AS, now discuss Chelsea’s interest in the left-back.

Mundo Deportivo mention Chelsea in a report that focuses on Bayern Munich’s desire to sign the 26-year-old to replace Alphonso Davies.

The France international has managed five goals and 10 assists from 44 games, while operating mainly as a left-back and at times as a centre-back. His ‘top season’ with the Serie A side hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Bayern aren’t the only club that want the defender and this is when Chelsea and Al-Hilal are tagged. Despite this, the report states his preference is to join the Bundesliga side.

Mundo’s claim is backed up by AS, who also indicate the Blues are keen on signing him.

It’s claimed Hernández has been dreaming of joining the Bavarian club for some time and is of the belief this move would help him take the next step in his career. Therefore, the player has ‘rejected succulent options’ such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Al-Hilal.

Those close to Milan talk about a fee of around €60-70m and AS state this is a very high figure for Bayern, who would try to reduce the price.
