Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci’s permanent move to Empoli this summer will not happen according to claims in the Italian media. There was some hope earlier in the week he could remain with the Italian side after his loan spell, but a deal now looks dead.

Pianeta Empoli have reported Empoli have ‘zero chance’ getting a deal done for the Leeds United player, following their relegation to Serie B last Sunday. Bellusci was the subject of a €2m move to the Tuscan side if they remained in Serie A, but with the prospect of playing in the second tier the defender will not make the move permanent.

However, a return to Leeds United to fight for his place is unlikely to happen with reports Bellusci will be eying a transfer to a Serie A club. Yesterday there were claims in Italy Bologna could offer him the chance to remain in the Italian top flight, which would be an ideal move for the Leeds Untied outcast.
