With the Sadio Mané to Bayern Munich drama going on, other Liverpool moves are being pushed to the side for now, like the signing of Calvin Ramsay or the failed attempt at luring Ismaël Gharbi from Paris Saint-Germain.
The latter has been an ongoing story in the past, with multiple reports from France claiming the Reds were trying to snatch the young midfielder from the Ligue 1 champions ahead of him being able to sign his first professional contract.
However, it was made clear from the off that Gharbi preferred the idea of staying and making a name for himself in Paris rather than move to Liverpool or elsewhere, which is exactly what he will be doing.
That’s according to Fabrice Hawkins, who took to Twitter to report the youngster ‘will sign his first professional contract’ with PSG today.
This is happening despite ‘the biggest European clubs positioning themselves’, with Liverpool reportedly ‘making him a very good offer’.
But, and it’s a big one, Paris Saint-Germain ‘has always been the midfielder’s priority’, and that’s where he will be staying.
As for Liverpool, they’ll have to look elsewhere for young talent to develop.
