Regardless of his performances on a football pitch, David Luiz always seems to be a fan and dressing room favourite wherever he goes.

The jovial Brazilian always seems to have a smile on his face, and his happiness appears to be somewhat contagious.

This is why it wasn’t too surprising to see many Chelsea fans pleased when his return was announced, just like it isn’t a shock to hear his former teammates lament his departure.

Speaking in an interview with Onze Mondial in France, Presnel Kimpembe explained how the former Benfica star’s exit from Paris Saint-Germain affected him.

He said: “His departure made me sad because David is someone who helped me a lot at this club. After that, of course, him leaving opened a few doors for me.”

The young defender then went on to explain how, even though Luiz leaving wasn’t what he wanted, the transfer could be a ‘blessing in disguise’ for him.

Since Luiz’s departure, Kimpembe has played a lot more regularly, making seven appearances for Paris Saint-Germain, which is only two fewer than the player managed under Laurent Blanc throughout the entirety of last season.
