In today’s edition of Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, they focus on Anderlecht players and highlight each player to decide if he’s been bad or good for the Jupiler Pro League side.
One of them is Jérémy Doku who joined Anderlecht’s academy in 2012 and made his first team debut in November 2018 at the age of 16. Luckily for him, he has received a thumbs up.
It’s claimed in the short report the youngster rejected Liverpool in order to continue with his current employer and he hopes to get ‘lots of opportunities’ at the club.
Het Nieuwsblad does not specify as to when the teenager rejected Liverpool – whether it was in the winter transfer market or before the start of the season.
In April 2018, we covered claims from Belgium, and it was explained that Doku was all set to join the Premier League club.
Had the attacker joined Liverpool, he would have continued his development in their academy.
Doku has made five appearances for the first team and the report explains he has a future at Anderlecht, but the player must be patient.
Liverpool may still be watching.
