Burnley have their eyes set on Akademisk Boldklub’s Pachanga Kristensen, according to a report from Denmark.

The 18-year-old climbed through the ranks of the club’s youth system and made his way into their first team in 2023. He made 27 appearances for the second division Danish club so far.

Tipsbladet state the centre-back is Akademisk Boldklub’s ‘great talent’ and their report mentions Burnley.

They state the youngster is ‘currently visiting’ the Clarets, without mentioning whether his club have approved this visit. There’s also no clarity over why the defender has travelled to England to visit Burnley, days after the winter market closed.

Scott Parker’s assistant Henrik Jensen is Danish and Tipsladet suspect he may have a role in Kristensen’s visit. As of now, it’s not clear whether the Championship club will strike a deal, but they are certainly looking at the youngster.

Kristensen’s contract lasts until the end of this year and the report indicates Akademisk Boldklub would find it difficult to hold on to him in the long term. Their manager, Joey Guðjónsson, remains hopeful of retaining the Dane at the club.

“It has been a big priority for me that we were able to extend the contract with Pachanga. It has been clear from day one when I arrived that we are dealing with a player with potential and a great desire to improve every day. I’m very much looking forward to continuing to work with him,” he said.
