It’s been confirmed in the Swedish media that Varbergs BoIS forward Erion Sadiku is having a trial with Leeds United this week.

Speaking to Varbergs BoiS official website the club’s sporting director Kujtim Bala has wished the 15 year old good luck during his time with Leeds United: “It’s extremely useful for a younger talent to visit another environment. We want to educate brave players, and I think you can develop courage by being thrown into uncomfortable environments and learning how to handle it.

“As the sporting director, I hope that Erie’s journey is a starting point for all our youth’s dreams. Good luck to Erion.”

It’s not been reported which age group Sadiku will be training with during his time in England or whether he’ll be involved in any trial games with Leeds United’s youth teams.

It’s clear Leeds United are scouting young talent in Sweden after they gave a trial to Halmstad youngster Liridon Kelmendi in November.

At the time his agent said his client’s time at Leeds United had gone well, and it’s expected the goalkeeper will have further trials with the Championship side.

With Pontus Jansson and Pawel Cibicki already at Leeds United, Tornqvist or Sadiku could be the next Swedes to arrive at Elland Road.
