According to a claim in the Italian media, Crystal Palace are looking to close in on Sao Paulo goalkeeper Lucas Perri despite competition from Serie A.

TMW report the Eagles are in the race to sign the 21 year old following Fiorentina’s attempts to sign the youngster. It’s claimed the Viola have proposed €2.5m for the Brazilian.

There are also reports Sampdoria are interested in the Sao Paulo goalkeeper as they look for a replacement for Emil Audero. The young stopper could return to his parent club Juventus after his loan spell in Genoa.

However, it’s claimed Crystal Palace are looking to bring Perri to England and a move to the Premier League looks to be the ‘hottest’ outcome as it stands. TMW say there’s been some kind of offer from Palace, although they don’t expand on that.

It’s likely Perri would be brought in to provide back up for the London club and continue his development in the U23s.

Perri is contracted to the Brazilian club until June 2002 after extending his deal last summer.
