PSV Eindhoven’s Olivier Boscagli was heavily linked with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer transfer window.

The Dutch club resisted all efforts from the Seagulls, leaving the player frustrated about the situation.

This led to Boscagli airing his views publicly, as he revealed that PSV didn’t respect their promise about a transfer. It was also suggested that all of this saw a drop in his performances levels.

Despite the annoyance, the Frenchman has played 34 times in all competitions for PSV this season. Amidst that, Footballtransfers have picked up comments about his performances.

It’s note that Boscagli’s transfer to Brighton fell apart and they carry quotes from pundit Tommie van der Leegte, who offers some criticism for the defender and states that Premier League clubs might not come calling for him anymore.

He said: “He is great in terms of construction, but if you defend like this in the Premier League, you will be on the bench after two weeks.

“He had a great year, but the club was not under that much pressure then. If that is the case, then you also see his shortcomings. Then I think it will be difficult at a top club. I don’t think they will come for him anyway.”

Even though some hope is provided to Brighton because the 27-year-old’s contract at PSV runs out in the summer, they are pessimistic about the season and his near future.

It’s believed there would have to be some amount of improvement in Boscagli’s showings to command interest from the Premier League.
