Dani Olmo has been linked with a move to Manchester City in the summer window, a year after joining Barcelona from RB Leipzig.

Last month, we covered claims from Spain that Manchester City view the 27-year-old as an ideal player for Pep Guardiola’s system.

Three days ago, journalist David Ibáñez told El Desmarque the manager loves Olmo. He added that despite this, the attacking midfielder won’t be moving to Manchester City in the upcoming window.

Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger got in touch with the player’s agent, Andy Bara, to ask about the Manchester City links. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to relay his comments.

“We are not talking to any other club. Dani is very happy in Barcelona at the moment, he’s winning titles there and is part of a great team. The rumours are not true. But of course, you never know what the future will bring…” he said.

The Spain international signed a contract until 2030 and it includes a hefty release clause of €500m. He managed 11 goals and seven assists from 37 games this season.

Kevin De Bruyne will leave the Etihad when his contract expires, and the Premier League club need to sign his replacement. Olmo was said to be one of the targets, but his agent’s comment indicates Manchester City haven’t made an approach.

Guardiola’s side also interested Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz and have to battle with Bayern Munich for his signature.
