Yaser Asprilla is very highly thought of in Colombia and the same can be said at Watford.

In May, Watford’s sporting director Ginaluca Nani said the club have ‘the new Bellingham’ in their hands. He also talked about widespread transfer interest ahead of the summer market.

Later in that month, the player’s Jonathan Restrepo said clubs from the Premier League and elsewhere are keen, but he denied talks with Arsenal or Leicester City.

Now Manchester United are pulled into the picture, along with Brighton & Hove Albion. The latter are currently manager-less but their transfer business is usually done at a club level, that’s something Manchester United are also looking to do… and something Erik ten Hag will have to get used to.

20-year-old Asprilla certainly looks a good bet for the future, and it’s Colombian journalist Guillermo Arango who says both Manchester United and Brighton want him.

Watford, meanwhile, are said to be looking for £30m to sell their player this summer.
