It seems that Xisco Muñoz’s time without work won’t last long.
The manager left Watford at the start of the month, and according to reports from his home country, he’s already close to taking charge of a Spanish side.
Heraldo reports that SD Huesca have Muñoz’s arrival ‘practically closed’ after he emerged as the main candidate for the job.
It’s claimed the club wait for him to sign in the coming hours so he can already start working for them on Wednesday.
Muñoz had been working at Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi, his first job as a manager, when he was signed by Watford, joining the Hornets in December 2020.
In his first season in charge, he took the Vicarage Road side to promotion to the Premier League, which is the biggest achievement of his career. He was sacked after only nine games this season.
Huesca are currently 12th in the Spanish second division, so the club hope Muñoz can do with them what he did with Watford last year.
