Amid rumours there might be an exit clause in his Manchester City contract (which he denies), there is also the question of whether Pep Guardiola will continue at the Etihad beyond his current contract.

Tied to the Premier League club until 2021, the Spaniard has already won the Premier League (twice), the FA Cup and the EFL Cup, so apart from the Champions League, which he’s lifted twice with Barcelona, there isn’t much left for him to do.

That’s why we’re already starting to see a few stories of where he could go next, and Le10 Sport come up with a rather sensationalist one on Tuesday, writing he could end up at Paris Saint-Germain alongside his former midfielder, Xavi.

The story is written because the Al Sadd manager is quickly becoming a favourite of the Qataris with his work in the country, said to be ‘respected and listened to’, and ‘multiple sources confirm the possibility of seeing him on the PSG bench next year shouldn’t be excluded’.

However, should that happen (they’d need to get rid of Thomas Tuchel first), he wouldn’t come alone, because Xavi is reportedly ‘openly pushing’ for them to bring in one man: Pep Guardiola.

They believe Paris Saint-Germain seem to be the only club capable of offering him the €2m/month he currently earns at Manchester City, so if he were to go elsewhere, the French capital makes the most sense as his next step.

All of this, of course, comes straight from the Qatari side of things, as Leonardo, should Tuchel be sent packing, would prefer for Max Allegri to replace the German.

Either way, Le10 Sport suggest this all means a managerial change is in the works in Paris.

We’d take this with a pinch of salt for now, because the idea of a Xavi-Guardiola managerial team seems a bit too much right now.

The football hipsters aren’t ready for that just yet.
