Raphinha is a new Brazilian star, and likely to be going to the Qatar World Cup with his country.
Given he left Brazil at an early age and didn’t establish himself in the country’s football first, he hadn’t been very well known. Then his progress with Leeds United saw national manager Tite take note, and since debuting for Brazil he’s won legions of fans.
When Nicolas Otamendi slammed his arm into the Leeds United star’s face during the recent Argentina v Brazil match, there was national outrage at a huge level. That just served to show how much Raphinha has now been taken into Brazilian hearts.
Others are taking notice, and Pianeta Milan talk of an interest from AC Milan.
It’s explained he could be just what the Rossoneri are looking for, but they also state he’s ‘worth at least €30m’.
That €30m figure is seen as an ‘important investment’ for Milan, so something they’d have to make an effort for, however, it’s surely far from reality.
As often happens when big Italian clubs target stars of teams lower down the Premier League, there appears to be miscalculation over what the player is worth. Similar has happened with AS Roma and Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
Milan would likely get a shock at the true price, and unless Leeds United are relegated it’s unlikely the Serie A side would be able to pay what the Whites would require for their Brazilian star.
