Mousa Dembele going away with Belgium and spending the time battling to actually get on the training pitch is becoming a worrying trend for Mauricio Pochettino and Tottenham Hotspur.

Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad report that Dembele isn’t in the team training on Friday, out along with several national teammates and training individually. The Tottenham midfielder didn’t appear against the Netherlands in Wednesday’s friendly, and it’s been a frustrating international break for Dembele.

Ahead of the Dutch match, Roberto Martinez said (via HLN) Dembele had ‘a little muscle soreness from the intensity of his game Sunday.’

It’s now Friday, a little muscle soreness after Tottenham’s draw against Arsenal surely can’t still be holding Dembele back. Pochettino will be worried about the situation, and it may we wiser for Belgium to send the midfielder back to his club, and let them get on with things.

If Dembele isn’t fit to train today, then it would be a push for the Tottenham player to be fully fit for Sunday’s match against Estonia.
