As the Spanish press continue waiting for Diego Costa’s transfer from Chelsea to Atletico Madrid to be sorted, it’s time to become a bit worried about his physical form.
Marca have counted all the days he’s been out, as they have a story saying it’s been 100 days since the Brazilian striker last played.
Costa last entered a pitch in Spain’s World Cup Qualifieragainst Macedonia, which his national team won 2-1 and he scored a goal. That was on June 11th.
Marca mentions the player’s condition has become a subject of debate, and although he’s been showing he has been working out by himself, this would be not enough if compared to a club’s training session or preseason at Chelsea.
They expect Diego Simeone’s staff at Atletico to do special work with him so he’s ready to play when registered by the Spanish club in January.
Negotiations with Chelsea seem to keep advancing. On Monday, the very same Marca said the last offer was of €55m plus a further €10m in bonuses, and the clubs were getting closer to a deal.
Meanwhile, Costa remains in Brazil, skipping as much real training as he possibly can.
