Mousa Dembele needs to be at least a little concerned over his World Cup place with Belgium, not being one of the country’s core midfielders at the moment.
Belgium’s DH have had a look at several players who will have come out of the international break with concerns, and the Tottenham man is one of them.
Dembele wasn’t called up for Belgium, returning from injury, but his place is becoming weaker in his absence, and DH believe he could be facing problems at Tottenham.
In words many Spurs fans thought they’d never hear, DH state Mauricio Pochettino ‘seems to prefer’ Moussa Sissoko to the Belgian midfielder. That doesn’t seem to have a lot of weight behind it, and it’d be interesting to see what Poch’s choices are where Dembele is back fully firing.
Pochettino recently spoke about managing Dembele’s fitness, as he continues to return from a knee problem, but the player could begin to get impatient, especially with suggestions in Belgium that he should be concerned.
The World Cup on the horizon is both a pleasure and a pressure for Pochettino, with players having an extra motivation, and also an extra reason to sulk when they feel they’re not getting enough minutes.
