Vincent Kompany could look to sign Romelu Lukaku for Tottenham if he replaces Antonio Conte at the club, although it would mean losing Harry Kane.
That’s according to journalist Filip Joos, who believes the Belgian duo could be a hit together for Spurs.
Kompany is thought to be among the potential candidates to replace Conte at Tottenham, with Daniel Levy and co. currently scouring the market for their next permanent manager.
The Burnley boss has been thrown in the mix after the superb work he has done at Turf Moor this season, reinventing the club from top to bottom before leading them back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Indeed, he is currently among the bookies favourites to get the Tottenham job, with some making him as low as 4/1 alongside Luis Enrique.
Joos can see the move happening and believes he may even offer a lifeline to Romelu Lukaku, although it would take a major sacrifice for the move to happen.
“It could well be the team where Conte becomes coach. Juventus is mentioned and if they get rid of Vlahovic, there will be enough money to get Lukaku,” he said regarding the Belgian striker’s future.
“It (a move to Tottenham) would mean that Kompany would have to let Harry Kane go to get Lukaku. Those are big shoes to fill. I might not dare to do it, but I also think it could work.”
