With Atletico Madrid undergoing something of a rebuild this summer, there’s been plenty of incomings as well as outgoings.

Most of their business is already done but one player who is yet to leave is Angel Correa, with it clear he has no future at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Earlier in the window, we covered reports that Tottenham were interested, while Wolves are another Premier League side known to retain an interest.

It seems both of those will miss out on the Argentine, though, with AS reporting that AC Milan are his likeliest destination at this point.

The newspaper reports that Tottenham and Wolves were among the first clubs to show an interest in Correa, alongside Milan and Napoli. However, the player made it clear that Milan ‘had priority’.

Since then the Serie A side have ‘accelerated negotiations’ and a deal with Atletico is now close to completion for €40m, with €10m of easy add-ons and €7m more complicated ones.

Correa has travelled to the US with Atletico but that’s not an issue as Milan are there to play Bayern Munich, so the transfer could be completed as soon as tomorrow.
