Scoring 32 goals in 52 games for AS Monaco last year, as well as picking up seven assists, Wissam Ben Yedder remains one of the more prolific players in France.

Now 31 years of age, the Sarcelles-born striker has two years left on his contract, and tends to be linked with a Premier League move every summer, with this one being no different as Media Foot in France claim both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Manchester United are following him.

That shouldn’t really come as a surprise, as the Red Devils have been mentioned as admirers of the forward in the past, but Wolves could also need another striker to help Raúl Jiménez, who only found the back of the net six times in the Premier League last season.

Of the two, it’s probably Manchester United who need a pure goalscorer like Ben Yedder the most, especially following the announcement that Cristiano Ronaldo wants to leave.

Signing the Frenchman would certainly give them a bunch of experience, since the player has featured in Europe a number of times with both AS Monaco and Sevilla in the past, as well as scored 214 goals in 436 appearances throughout his career.

Wolves could certainly do with those numbers too, and Media Foot explain Bruno Lage’s side are ‘following him very closely’ and are even ‘thinking of leading a concrete attack for his transfer’.

As for Manchester United, it’s said Ben Yedder is ‘on their list’, with the player certainly suited for the type of football Erik ten Hag likes to put together.

Playing 124 games for Monaco to date, the forward has scored 73 times and assisted another 25, showing just how influential he is in both finishing and creating chances for his team.
