During the winter transfer window, Wolves were one of a number of clubs linked with Daniel Opare by the Daily Mail.
Out of contract in the summer, the Augsburg fullback was said to be available for £3m.
But the window closed, and Opare remains at the German, although he’s now being forced to train alone.
German newspaper Bild recently photographed the 27 year old having a meeting with Schalke officials, and this infuriated Augsburg, who suspended the player.
Now, faced with losing the Wolves target on a free transfer, Bild explain Augsburg are trying to force him out to a league where the window remains open, such as Russia. But the player has every right to see out his contract and leave as a free agent, if that’s what he wants.
Wolves were said to have asked about Opare, and if their interest is real then they’ll surely be keeping an eye on the situation, and can even agree a contract with him.
Training alone outside of hours, Opare told Bild: “The club told me, I should train, so I train, no problem. I’m just a player. How it goes, only manager Stefan Reuter knows.”
