Joao Mario’s transfer to Wolverhampton Wanderers is edging ever closer, if Gazzetta dello Sport are to be believed on Wednesday.
The Portuguese midfielder was slowly but surely getting linked more and more with a move to Molineux, and the Italian newspaper believe both club and player are currently in talks over personal terms thanks to Jorge Mendes.
This all stemmed from Wolves contacting the super agent about the Inter midfielder, according to Gazzetta, who has made the discussions a possibility, yet this is all happening behind the Serie A club’s back.
As things stand, no offer has arrived on Inter’s desk, who are asking for around €27m in order to not make a loss.
Gazzetta explain the Italians are fully aware that if Wolves were to come forward with such an amount, the deal would be closed ‘in two minutes’, as there’s little chance of Joao Mario saying no to a move to the Premier League.
The Portugal international spent the second half of last season on loan at West Ham, where he got a taste for England and the football they play.
