Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Rafa Mir is reportedly one of the names that Porto have on the table for the summer market.
The claims are made by Portuguese newspaper A Bola, who today features a piece explaining the Dragons’ quest for a centre-forward in the transfer window.
Porto are now losing Moussa Marega, who’s been their main goalscorer for a few seasons, as he’s walking away at the end of his contract. They now have the tough job of replacing him, and some options are already on the table.
A Bola writes that Rafa Mir’s name was ‘suggested’. They point out that his career is managed by Jorge Mendes, who’s made countless deals with Porto through the years.
It isn’t made it clear if it was Mendes himself who suggested the transfer, or if Mir’s name was whispered by someone at Porto. In any case, A Bola highlights the fact that even though Huesca were relegated in La Liga this season, the striker managed to score 16 goals during his loan spell.
The newspaper doesn’t say how much Porto would need to spend to sign the 23-year-old from Wolves. They claim the other options on the table are currently Portimonense’s Beto and Rangers’ Alfredo Morelos.
