In the past couple of days, a few English outlets have linked Wolves to Porto striker Tiquinho Soares.
With Soares being a Gestifute client, that’s the kind of deal we couldn’t say is impossible, especially after the move of Ruben Neves to the Championship side earlier this summer.
But the striker’s situation is a bit different from Neves’. Since signing from Vitória de Guimarães in January, the player scored 12 goals in only 18 matches for Porto, showing he could be very important for the club this season.
That’s one of the reasons why, as reported by O Jogo today, the transfer to Wolves wouldn’t make any sense now.
The newspaper claims the sale is ‘out of question’, as the player has been working to get back in shape after the injury which left him out of a few games this season.
Soares currently has a €40m release clause, and with Porto only getting 50% of a transfer, they certainly wouldn’t let him go for much less than that.
