Now that Wolverhampton Wanderers have made the first step by signing one of the players who rescinded their contracts with Sporting, other clubs could feel encouraged to do the same.

That’s what journalist Pedro Sousa claimed on Portugal’s TVI24 today, as he commented the situation surrounding the players.

He claims that Rui Patrício’s move to Wolverhampton could be a ‘kick off’ for other clubs who had doubts about signing the players who are available for free.

Sousa was especially talking about Gelson Martins, who’s one of the players who has a long list of pretenders in the transfer market.

The journalist recalled that Lazio, Liverpool, Benfica and Monaco have all been linked to the winger, who used to have a €60m release clause at Sporting.

Although Liverpool are the only English club mentioned by the pundit, Arsenal and Everton have also been linked to the player, in claims we covered earlier today.
