Goncalo Guedes scored twice for Valencia on Sunday as they beat Eibar 4-1. That took the 24-year-old to five goals and the same number of assists in 30 La Liga matches this season.

Wolves have been linked with the forward repeatedly over this season, with the player being represented by Jorge Mendes’ Gestifute agency. The idea has generally been that Valencia need some money, Guedes needs a career kickstart, and the Premier League club could provide the answer.

Estadio Deportivo today state that Wolves had looked like the ‘ideal destination’ for the Portuguese forward in the summer, however, now another club is in the picture.

Marca state Sevilla have their eye on Guedes, and have asked about the attacker’s situation. Valencia want to get around €40m for him, which would be about the same fee they paid PSG to sign the player permanently.

That sets up a potential tussle with Wolves, however, even with the Mendes connection, Guedes doesn’t look like the most attractive option right now.
