Wolverhampton Wanderers are not interested in selling João Gomes for less than €60m, amid interest from Liverpool.

That’s according to PL Brasil, who report that Wolves have set their standards high for the Brazilian midfielder.

A report in England this week stated that Liverpool were keen on Gomes. They are reportedly see him as an ideal addition to Arne Slot’s squad. There was also mention of Manchester United.

PL Brasi now report from ‘sources close’ to the player that Wolves are not interested in selling him for less than €60m. That would be more than triple the amount they paid to sign him from Flamengo in January 2023.

Those same sources also stated that a move in January is “practically impossible.” It is more likely that a transfer will happen at the end of the season.

Even the close relationship between Gomes’ entourage and Liverpool’s directors and scouts will not change that. In fact, there has been no recent contract regarding the Wolves man.

He has a contract at Molineux until 2028, so they are in no danger on that front. Interest has increased in the 23-year-old as he’s continued to impress despite Wolves’ struggles this season.

It seems, though, they have no intention of letting him go and Liverpool or other suitors will have to pay at least €60m if they wish to prise him away.
