Wolverhampton Wanderers are one of the clubs in the race to sign Brazilian left-back Guilherme Arana, according to reports.
Fichajes writes that following good displays for club and country, the 24-year-old is now once again a target for European sides.
The Spanish outlet writes that Wolves are chasing a fullback who can make them ‘forget’ about Matt Doherty. The club want someone to compete for a place against Nelson Semedo on the right side, but with a different set of abilities.
Now we don’t know exactly how Fichajes got the information wrong, but Arana is a left-back, and that’s how it’s been for his entire career.
In any case, Wolves are said to be in this competition against Porto and Fiorentina.
Following his success at Corinthians, Arana spent some time in Europe playing for Sevilla and Atalanta, where he could not impress. However, now back at Atlético Mineiro in Brazil, he was able to show his potential again.
The left-back is one of the few local players who were called up by Brazil for the last two international breaks, despite the heavy competition from those who play in Europe, and he is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €8m.
This summer, it was claimed that Everton were following Arana at the Olympics, even though no offers were apparently made.
