A little earlier we covered a claim from Spain’s Cope radio which stated Wolves have decided to keep Rafa Mir.
The report explained talks between the Premier League club and Atletico Madrid are ‘paralysed’ and the striker is travelling to England today to try and ‘fix’ things.
Marca have more on the situation, and they say Wolves are putting up ‘numerous obstacles’ in the way of Diego Simeone’s side. They don’t say Bruno Lage’s side have decided to count on the player, instead stating the club want a bigger ‘economic benefit’ to let him go.
As far as the Spanish newspaper have it, Wolves have rejected a €15m offer from Atletico, a figure which was previously said to be the English club’s asking price.
Mir is said to have agreed personal terms with Atletico Madrid, yet until there’s an agreement with Wolves he won’t be able to join up with Los Rojiblancos, something which the Spanish media had expected to happen this week.
