Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes has impressed quite a bit for his club in the past couple of seasons.
Ideally, that would directly hand him a spot in the Brazil national team line-up but for the game against Chile, Selecao boss Dorival Junior had excluded him from the XI.
The Brazil manager had explained that it was a tactical exclusion and nothing more than that.
It now seems as if the Newcastle star will return for the country’s vital game against Peru tomorrow, with Folha de Sao Paulo stating that Wolves’ Andre will go back to the bench.
Dorival is keen on having Guimaraes back, with the Wolves star putting in a ‘poor performance’ against Chile and it clearly wasn’t enough for him to play in the game tomorrow.
A win for Brazil wil ease tensions in the camp about their qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They are currently fourth in the qualifiers, with seventh-placed Venezuela only two points behind them.
As things stand, Guimaraes will most certainly have a key role to play in the key game tomorrow.
