By now, you’ll be sorely aware that AS Roma really need a new goalkeeper and Rui Patricio, a client of Jorge Mendes, is among the players the Italians are looking at.

The veteran only has one year left on his deal at Molineux, and with Nuno Espirito Santo now gone, a move away from the club could be more enticing.

It obviously all depends on who replaces the Portuguese at Wolves, with Mendes likely to place another of his clients there if he gets the chance, but Patricio could still be on his way out if José Mourinho wants him.

That is, at least, what TuttoMercatoWeb think, as they state the former Sporting man is ‘in pole position’ to take over between the sticks in Rome.

They explain his contract expiry date and his 33 years of age make him ‘affordable in terms of cost’, with a figure of €10m mentioned.

Not only is he Portuguese but also a Mendes client, who ‘would do the rest’, meaning they can see this one easily taking place.

Gazzetta dello Sport suggest something similar, explaining that the ‘more founded’ track for the goalkeeper position is the one that ‘leads to Rui Patricio’.

It’s still nothing overly concrete, but the idea is there, and with Mendes’ help could quickly become something serious if Wolves aren’t careful.
