Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder João Moutinho is out of Portugal’s matchday squad tonight, according to local reports.
Following an injury in the match against Azerbaijan last week, the 34-year-old missed the game against Serbia on Saturday, and is now out of the clash against Luxembourg.
The information is brought by Zero Zero and other outlets who had access to the line-ups before the official announcements.
That’s surprising news, because even though Moutinho hadn’t trained with the squad on Sunday and Monday, manager Fernando Santos claimed the player should be ready for tonight’s game.
With the Portuguese national team still to release any details on the player’s injury, Wolves fans should probably start getting worried about the midfielder’s fitness situation for the upcoming Premier League fixtures.
Good news for the Nuno Espírito Santo’s side is that they don’t play at the weekend, as their next clash is scheduled for Monday against West Ham United at Molineux.
