ESPN Brasil is this week featuring an interview with Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Fernando Marçal. Even though the full chat should be aired later on, their website already brings some of the quotes.
Speaking to reporter João Castelo Branco, the 32-year-old was asked if he’s ever seen any football player who’s as strong as Adama Traoré.
Marçal recalled that one of the teammates he’s had in France had an impressive shape as well. And it turns out that he had a surprise when arriving at the Molineux.
“Not to say that I have never seen, in Lyon, I had a teammate, who’s Moussa Dembélé, who’s very strong. He doesn’t do anything at the gym, we’re there pumping iron, he’d just pass by, say hi and all ripped”, Marçal told ESPN Brasil.
“And, arriving here, meeting Traoré, we were talking, I learned that they are cousins, it’s a familiar thing, really.”
Marçal also made some big praises towards Traoré, claiming he expects big things from the winger this season.
“But there isn’t (any other), Adama is an animal, very strong. And, also, I’m very optimistic, because he has already shown in the first games that this season promises and, for sure, he will help us a lot.”
As Wolverhampton Wanderers try to find some good form under new manager Bruno Lage, Traoré has yet to score any goals or help his teammates out with assists this season.
Following tonight’s clash against Tottenham Hotspur for the League Cup, the Molineux side prepare for a trip to Southampton, where they play on Sunday.
