On Thursday, Le10 Sport reported OGC Nice have intensified their negotiations to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rayan Aït-Nouri this summer.
Later that day, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna stated the Ligue 1 side had held talks with the left-back’s entourage in France.
Aouna’s claim is backed up by La Gazette du Fennec, who then provide more on this case.
It’s claimed Nice have very serious interest in the 24-year-old and are determined to secure his services. This is why they had the ‘first official meeting’ yesterday with the defender’s camp. The operation, however, isn’t finalised yet.
That’s because Nice are lacking funds to buy the Wolves player and are looking to take him on loan with a purchase option.
Although the French club’s negotiations to sign the Algeria international are progressing well, the report states he ‘does not hide his desire’ to continue in the Premier League.
They add Aït-Nouri has received ‘interesting offers’ in England, without naming clubs. The Wolves defender has ‘several days’ to evaluate the options he has and then take a decision on his future.
La Gazette du Fennec don’t mention the possibility of him staying at Wolves next season.
