On April 14th, we covered claims made by Super Deporte that Wolverhampton Wanderers held a meeting with Valencia to discuss several players, and that included Kang-in Lee.
Lee managed a goal and four assists in all competitions last season, despite his poor statistics he’s now attracting attention from elsewhere.
According to Super Deporte, Atlético Madrid have knocked on his door and they are now joined by Wolves, Napoli, AC Milan and Fiorentina.
It’s claimed these five clubs are ‘waiting to take the step forward’, while Los Ches’ intention is to retain a ‘significant percentage’ of the South Korea international’s future sale.
The attacking midfielder’s contract expires in 2022 and without an extension, the La Liga side are looking to cash in from his sale this summer.
Valencia are aware they will not be able to cash in big from the 20-year-old’s transfer due to the time left on his contract, and the only way they can earn big is by retaining a percentage from his future sale.
With Wolves one of the clubs watching the Valencia player, Lee is ‘waiting’ with ‘patience’ as he ‘continues with a marked roadmap’. This would indicate the South Korean hasn’t made a decision on his future.
