On July 10th, we brought claims from Brazil which stated Wolves have seriously moved into the picture for Jhon Arias.

The Fluminense winger had been linked with a move to the Premier League previously, but this time things appeared to be more serious. At 27-years-of-age and having impressed at the World Cup it’s looked like a now or never transfer opportunity for Arias to fulfil his ambitions.

Arias has been open about his desire to move from Fluminense to European football and he should now get his way. That report a few days ago stated Wolves were set to make an offer, and things have progressed since then.

Amid subsequent claims from England that Wolves are set to pay €20m, prominent Brazilian journalist Fred Caldeira has shared his thoughts. And he clearly feels Fluminense are getting a terrible deal.

Caldeira stated: The sale of Jhon Arias for €20M will be a disgrace for Fluminense. Pocket change for a phenomenal player in his prime.”

There’s likely to be much more reaction from Brazil regarding the claims, and we’ll keep on top of that.
