Earlier this month, L’Equipe stated RC Lens have made contact to find out the conditions needed to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Boubacar Traoré this summer.
A fresh report from L’Equipe relays that and then provides the latest on the 22-year-old’s situation at Molineux.
Wolves initially signed the defensive midfielder on loan from FC Metz in 2022, and made his stay permanent in 2023.
Borussia Mönchengladbach tried to sign the Mali international a year ago, and the report says they are still keen to secure his services in this window. Metz are also in the picture to acquire the player’s siganture.
The Bundesliga side are expected to part ways with Manu Koné and have identified the Wolves player as a target to replace him.
L’Equipe state it’s ‘difficult to envisage’ the Malian’s sale in this window, without providing any explanation. The report further adds Traoré could leave on a loan deal.
It’s claimed Wolves’ leaders haven’t yet communicated whether they want to retain or let him leave. Gary O’Neil’s side would have to make a decision on Traoré’s future in the next few weeks.
