Ever since Bruno Lage took over, and even a bit before that, it seems that Amadou Diawara has been a target for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Premier League side are looking for a defensive midfielder, it seems, and Jorge Mendes appears to be doing his best to provide them with one.

Close to AS Roma, what with José Mourinho being their manager and all, the super agent has been trying to get the Guinea international to the Molineux, only to be met with some reluctance from the player.

That being said, the deal isn’t over, according to Corriere dello Sport, as the Serie A side are still hopeful of offloading him before the end of the transfer window, and Wolves remain an option.

The newspaper state the chance of an offer from Lage’s side ‘remains on the table’ for the player, who seems intent on remaining in Rome if he can.

We’ll have to wait and see what comes of it, but this one isn’t entirely over yet.
