Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers have reportedly made contact for the signing of Cesar Montes.
The interest from Premier League clubs in the Espanyol defender is revealed by La Grada, who brings a few details about this chase.
The outlet claims that Nottingham Forest and Wolves both ‘have asked’ about the player, but are still to make further moves for that signing.
It’s said the interest from the English side ‘has not increased’ yet, mostly because there are still a few months left before the transfer window opens.
La Grada points out that Montes is well protected by a €30m release clause, and with Espanyol not interested in selling him, there’s no reason for them for his price tag to be below that for the time being.
The defender has barely arrived in European football, as he was signed from Mexican side Monterrey in January on an €8m deal.
Montes has a contract with Espanyol running until 2028, and that’s another reason why Nottingham Forest and Wolves will need to show up with convincing offers to take him from the La Liga side so soon.
The player had already been linked to a move to the Molineux back in 2020.
