Striker Partick Cutrone has claimed the fact he was no longer ‘trusted’ at Wolverhampton Wanderers led to him leaving the club this month.
Cutrone joined Wolves in the summer transfer window, arriving in a £16m deal from AC Milan.
His time in England proved to be a huge disappointment, though, with him managing just three goals 24 appearances in all competitions.
Cutrone never really earned his place at the club, making just three starts in the Premier League during his time there.
It was those numbers that led to Wolves sanctioning a departure this month, Cutrone electing to return to Italy and Serie A with Fiorentina.
He has made a flying start to life back in his home country, bagging a goal on his first start in the win over Atalanta in the Coppa Italia.
That was a big confidence boost for the striker, who claims that he only left because he was no longer felt fully backed at Molineux.
“Let’s say that the best answers are given on the field,” Labaroviola report him saying.
“I have to thank Milan and Wolverhampton because they gave me confidence, then football also happens.
“But I have to thank them because every day is good for growing.
“The Wolves club no longer trusted me, and therefore, sincerely, as soon as I heard about Fiorentina I immediately said yes and I am delighted to have taken this choice. I want to do well here.”
