Wolverhampton Wanderers may want to step up their longstanding interest in Chivas forward Alexis Vega with three clubs already making a move for him.

That’s according to journalist Kery Ruiz, who says the player has three offers on the table ahead of the January transfer window.

Wolves have long been linked with a move for the Mexican, with a report at the end of November last year first indicating their interest.

There have been regular reports about them since that point, with it reported ahead of the January transfer window that Vega had told his club he wanted to leave, and it then reported that Wolves were the ‘most interested’ club in him.

There’s been little since then as Wolves’ financial situation has made transfers difficult and there’s been a regime change, with Julen Lopetegui departing and Gary O’Neil arriving in the summer.

He’s undoubtedly a player on their radar, though, and Ruiz reports that they may want to move as other clubs around the world are now eyeing up a potential transfer for him in the coming months.

“Alexis Vega has three offers from abroad,” he is quoted as saying.

“The first is from Brazil and is a team from Rio, whose name has not yet emerged. The second offer is to be directed by Steven Gerrard. Playing alongside Henderson, it is from Al-Ettifaq Saudi Arabia, which is last in the table but there is a ticket.

“And the third is from European football. Although he is no longer in UEFA. From Russia they are interested in Alexis Vega. Let’s be honest, it can only be the greats of Russia. Zenit, Dinamo Moscow, Sparta Moscow or CSKA Moscow. These are the three offers he has.”
