On Thursday, the Brazilian media revealed Wolverhampton Wanderers’ interest in Corinthians defender Murillo.
It was said Wolves opened talks showing they were willing to spend €12m on the centre-back.
Now as ESPN Brasil covers this story, they explain that the Molineux side should actually have a hard time convincing Corinthians of a deal.
It’s first claimed that the Brazilian club demand at least €20m to negotiate the defender’s exit this summer. And there have been no approaches for a deal worth that amount so far.
Club manager Vanderlei Luxemburgo has asked the board to keep the player. They don’t even want to listen to bids for a potential January move.
Corinthians are in the middle of the season, playing two cups, and don’t want to see their best defender leave all of a sudden.
So if Wolves are that keen on him, they better raise their bid by a few million and see how the Brazilian club will react to that. Otherwise, it’s probably better to move for other targets.
