Friday’s edition of Tuttosport has a big article titled ‘The money for Cancelo’ and explains that Juventus will need to secure some quick sales if they’re to reach a deal for the Valencia player.
Wolves interest is mentioned once again, and it’s stated Cancelo is currently pushing the English club away whilst he waits for Juventus. Nuno Espirito’s side are to have the €40m requested by Valencia ‘ready’, but ‘for the moment’ the player isn’t keen.
Cancelo wants to play Champions League football, and quite enjoyed his time on loan in Italy with Inter Milan. Therefore he’s prepared to wait.
Valencia, on the other hand, need the money quickly for FFP reasons and their officials have met with opposite numbers from Juve to talk things over. It’s left Juventus knowing they need to sell players to raise the cash, and that’s what they’re now trying to do.
If Juventus are able to do that quickly then Cancelo can be theirs, if not then it opens up the Wolves possibility.
Again, it’s worth pointing out that Wolves may be being used to pressure Juventus, with their interest and willingness to pay €40m perhaps overstated.
